BG is a 16-hand bay gelding weighing 1,250 lbs — and he’s one of those rare horses that everyone instantly loves. Stunning bay color and kind in nature, he’s as gentle and trustworthy as they come. Whether it’s a 6’4″ adult or a 4’4″ child on his back, BG takes care of his rider every single time.
He spent this past summer as a guest horse in the Laramie Mountains for Trail Rider University, where riders of all experience levels praised his calm, dependable demeanor. BG was solid as a rock when loaned to a novice rider for both a three-day and three-week clinic, as well as for an all-day trail ride — earning rave reviews from everyone who rode him. I have ridden BG across the Bighorn Mountains of Wyoming and the Blue Ridge Mountains of Virginia, he has always been faultless! BG has also worked cattle and handled every new experience with quiet confidence. You will be hard pressed to show him something he hasn’t seen. But if you do, you can and will have confidence that he will handle it all in stride.
He moves his shoulders off your leg, has a nice collected backup, and side passes easily to open and close gates. On the ground, he’s just as reliable — stands like a statue to be tacked, mounted, or bathed, and is excellent for the farrier.
