LXH Cutters Ehli, better known as Dawson, is a 2018 dun gelding standing 15 hands and weighing 1,100 pounds. We’ve used Dawson extensively on the ranch — wrangling horses, doctoring calves, and gathering big pastures. No matter the job, he’s always at the front of the group, eager to get it done. Dawson has been ridden all over the ranch from the top of the bighorn mountain summer pastures to the hayfields on the home place, handling every kind of terrain with confidence and ease. He’s comfortable to ride at all gaits, has a true one-hand neck rein, and moves lightly off your leg in both directions. He easily picks up both leads, transitions smoothly, and whether you’re working or enjoying a trail ride he’s fun to ride. On the ground, Dawson is just as enjoyable.
